The theme of 2025 LIASA Conference, “Libraries as Innovation Hubs: Empowering Communities,” is more than just a catchy phrase. It’s a reflection of a fundamental shift in the role of libraries in our society. In an era of rapid technological change and information overload, libraries are evolving. From quiet repositories of books into dynamic centres of learning, collaboration, and innovation.
At Sabinet, we have been privileged to witness this transformation firsthand. For over two decades, through our partnership with LIASA, we have seen how libraries are embracing new technologies. Developing innovative programmes and empowering their communities in profound ways. But what does it truly mean for a library to be a “hub of innovation”?
