From 10 – 12 April 2014 the OCLC Global Council meeting was held in Dublin, Ohio, USA.This meeting concluded by holding elections for two vacant positions in the Board of Trustees and the position of President – elect and Vice President of the Global Council. These are two important bodies in the governing structure of OCLC.We are pleased to inform you that the two candidates nominated by the Executive Committee of the EMEA Regional Council for both these positions were elected. These candidates are:
- Board of Trustees: Ms Ellen Tise (Senior Director: Library and Information Services at Stellenbosch University, South Africa). Her e-mail address is etise@sun.ac.za. (Mr John Szabo who is the City Librarian of the Los Angeles Public Library, USA was elected to the other position in the Board of Trustees)
- President – Elect of the Global Council: Ms Anja Smit (University Librarian at Utrecht University, the Netherlands). Her e-mail address is H.P.A. Smit@uu.nl
