SA Media Database Enhanced

The SA Media database has been greatly enhanced by the increased functionality and features provided by Sabinet Discover, as well as by the processing of every single article with Optical Character Recognition software to facilitate the full-text searching of all of the more than 4 million articles in the database. As a result, every word in every article is fully searchable, thereby greatly increasing the possibility of finding relevant information.

Furthermore, the database is now completely current and daily updates are being loaded on the Sabinet Reference platform, ensuring that the database remains completely up-to-date.

Comprehensive Coverage of South African Newspapers and Periodicals

The SA Media database covers more than 120 South African periodicals and newspapers from 1977 onwards. In addition to the full-text searching available, index terms are also assigned to news articles.

Moreover, a link takes the user directly to the PDF version of the original newspaper article.
